In the name of Allah, the most gracious, the most
merciful. Peace and blessings be upon our beloved prophet Muhammad (SAL), the
leader of both two worlds, his kith and kin and his companions.
Honorable chief guest, respected principles, vice
principals, distinguished guests, executive committee members, staff of
meezaniyya and my dear colleagues, first of all, on this auspicious and ever so
delightful morning, I would say my Islamic greetings Assalamu Alaikum W W. A
very good morning to you all.
First and foremost, I would like to praise and thank
almighty Allah for giving me such a good opportunity to be a part of this great
event.
It is my privilege to have been asked to deliver the
welcome address on behalf the Iththihadhul Meezaniyyen, Alumni association. I
am deeply honored to welcome you all on this grand occasion.
It gives me immense pleasure to extend a hearty
welcome to our chief guest Hon’ble Mufthi M.I.M. Rizvi, president of all Ceylon
jamiathul ulama, who has very kindly consented to be our chief guest of this Auditorium
Opening Ceremony.
Also, I heartily welcome As-Sheik Umardeen, president
of kandy jamiathul Ulama, As-Sheik shiyam, president of Akurana Jamiathul
Ulama, As-Sheik Kaleelur Rahman, principal of Meezaniyya Arabic College, As-Sheik
Zakariyya, principal of Haleemiya Arabic college , As-Sheik Sadhiq, principal
of Rahmaniya, As-Sheik Nayeem, principal of Rashediyya Arabic College, and the
board management, As-Sheik Rifai and As-Sheik Jawfer, I welcome all of them to
this beautiful event and I am very much delighted to give a warm welcome to the
meezan family, Al-Haj Ihthisham meezan, chairman of Meezaniya Arabic College,
Al-Haj Ziyaudeen, Mr. Ijaz Madhani and Al-Haj Ashraf.
Next, I would prefer to grant a cordial welcome to the
distinguished guests, special invitees, executive committee members and the
members of Iththihathul meezaniyyeen who are always supportive and helpful to
the progress of this college.
Most importantly, I am happy to give an honored
welcome to the academic staff of this college, who sacrifice their whole lives
for the growth and improvement of their students and do their utmost to ensure
the success of them.
Today marks our 6th Annual general meeting
and we are proud to be able to host it today here at this beautiful place with
all of you. Just before we get started, I would like to express my gratitude
and thanks to all of you who so generously helped us make this event come
together to become a success.
In this pleasant moment, it’s much better to have a
look at a brief starting of this Arabic College. In that respect, this
institution was established in 1956 by Al-Haj meezan and it is inaugurated in
1992 with only 15 students and 2 academic staff. There were only two apartments
at the beginning time of this institution. But right now, after passing 27
years, you can see that it has grown up it has been growing up by the grace of
Allah. As we know, all credits go to the meezan group.
In today’s gathering, I would like to focus on all our
new volunteers who have joined us in the Iththihathul Meezaniyyeen,Alumni
association. You have all been chosen to be a part of our association due to a
mutual passion for the mission and vision of this college. Your passions help
us all to unite and the energy we create is what allows to achieve our
individual and group goals. We need you as much as you need us and that why we
are grateful to have you join us here at this association.
Finally, once again I am so glad to welcome you all
with my whole heart to this wonderful occasion and thank you so much for being
with us here today.
