A
tsunami is a series of fast-moving waves in the ocean caused by powerful
earthquakes or volcanic eruptions, a tsunami has a very long wavelength. It can
be hundreds of kilometers long. The waves travel at a great speed across on
ocean with little energy. This is one of the most known disasters and of those
which rocked the whole world and immersed all livings in cries and tears.
On
December 26, 2004 the whole world faced and experienced the most devastating
natural disaster, called tsunami to hit the Indian Ocean. By this natural
disaster many more places, houses, bridges, such huge buildings, stores,
vehicles, roads and even more places, were destroyed. More than this all, many
humans were killed in this dangerous disaster. It was really horrible.
It
took much cost to rebuild the destroyed places especially, the companies, roads
and bridges. For Sri Lanka, shore cover places, Galle, Trinco Melee, Puttalam,
Oluvil and some other slots affected a lot by this tsunami. In here too, a lot
of people were dead by this disaster.
There
are many natural disasters occurred in the world, but the tsunami is one of the
worst of them. Tsunamis mostly occur in the Pacific Ocean, the earthquake
activity may determine the possibility of a tsunami, and the warning system and
evacuation plan have saved many lives.
